Sacred Heart of the Heavens,

Sacred Heart of the Earth,

Ancestors who walk before us & beside us,

I come in humility to greet this new turning of time.

On this holy beginning guided by the spirit of Kej,

guardian of the mountains,

keeper of the forests,

protector of the four sacred directions,

we bow our hearts in gratitude.

May we learn from the gentle strength of the deer —

to walk softly upon the Earth,

to listen more deeply than we speak,

to move with awareness, grace, & respect for all living beings.

May this be a year when humanity remembers

that the rivers are our blood,

the trees are our lungs,

the soil is our flesh,

& the breath of the wind is the breath of Spirit within us.

Where there has been forgetting, bring remembrance.

Where there has been harm, bring healing.

Where there has been fear, plant courage rooted in love.

Guide our steps so that we walk in right relationship —

with Mother Earth,

with our communities,

with the ancestors,

& with the sacred purpose placed inside each soul.

Bless the children who will inherit this world.

Strengthen the elders who carry the wisdom.

Protect the seeds, the waters, the animals, & the unseen spirits who help keep balance in all directions.

Spirit of Kej,

open the path of harmony before us.

May every step we take this year be a prayer.

May every word we speak carry truth.

May every action honor the sacred web of life.

& so it is.
